“Big Surprise” is a BEAUTIFUL older Hatt. She has been lovingly looked after by her owners, who have reluctantly decided that it is time to scale down to a smaller vessel. She has been a revered fishing/cruising platform for 3 generations of the family and will be sorely missed. The level of upkeep and maintenance she has received is truly extraordinary and is obvious at first look. The owners added some initial performance modifications to the hull when she was first purchased, by adding lifting strakes and re-positioning the trim tabs to the transom allowing her to cruise comfortably at 27kts. (WOT: 32kts @ 40gal/hr). They have volumes of maintenance records available, and the original vessel literature from Hatteras. Engines were replaced with Cummins in 2004 and have 1400hrs. The bottom was just redone (6/19), the decks and hull were painted with Immron in 2009. All of the rails (foredeck and flybridge) were replaced by custom fabricated anodized aluminum, also in 2009. She has an additional 140 gallon auxiliary fuel tank. She is setup for fishing with freezer in bait/tackle station, outriggers, and electric reel outlet and spreader lights in cockpit. Very nicely equipped flybridge with isinglass enclosure, and newer cushions (3yrs). Comfortable cabin with large salon, galley down, full size fridge, microwave, princess electric oven and stove, crew quarters with 2 single bunks, large head with shower, and master Vberth, with convertible head. She has a wetbar with icemaker in salon, and 2 large Cruiseair air conditioners (16 and 12kBTUs). All sanitation hoses have been replaced. All wiring has been gone through by a marine electrician and grounds renewed.
If you are looking for a classic sportfish that has been meticulously maintained and embodies the style and function of a Hatteras, you better move fast. This beauty will not sit long…….
